Chapter

Nine

I found the three fixing their hair before my living room mirror. The hutch, which normally held my Nintendo systems, had three dozen small bottles, powders, and trays of makeup scattered over it. Part of me wanted to scream at the mess they’d made, but the larger part was fascinated by the transformations taking place.

From beautiful young girls to stunning women, I watched their makeup change the contours of their face and mask the smallest imperfections. The girls chatted about school and complained about their former landlord while they worked, oblivious to each other’s skill.

Kate’s phone kept ringing while they got ready, and she shut it off with an angry hiss as they finished getting ready. I wanted to ask what the dude was calling her, but thought better of it. It was probably a pro athlete or model, and I didn’t need to remind myself how far out of my league she was.

Feeling silly for even caring, I followed the three into the elevator and down to the subway. Four stops later, we piled out onto the northside and were half a block from the restaurant. The girls hadn’t dressed to the nines, but they still turned heads as walked down the street, and Morena had snuggled up to my side on the train when a guy started hitting on her after staring at her ass for two stops.

“Thanks for protecting me back there,” she said with a warm smile as I held the door open at the restaurant.

“I didn’t do anything,” I said, blushing and rubbing the back of my neck as the girl passed inside.

When Kate stepped past me, she mouthed something silently and flashed me a wink, causing my blush to deepen.

“If you want Ceira and I to step out tonight for a while, just flash me a signal.”

I could only frown at my sister as she darted over to the table Morena was grabbing in the rear. Ceira had removed her coat and, folding it over one arm, paused before the restaurant’s windows to push her blonde hair into a messy bun.

“I’ve never seen Kate jealous. It’s unsettling, isn’t it?”

The tiny blonde swept into the restaurant with me behind her, the door dinging on a bell as it closed. Kate always looked gorgeous, no matter what she wore, and Morena looked hot in the yoga pants and loose sweatshirt she’d changed into from her suit, but Ceira had changed into an entirely different outfit.

Black stockings covered her slender legs, and a yellow schoolgirl skirt barely covered her tiny rear. The black mesh top left bare her midriff, which was smooth and soft from a lifetime of being treated like a princess. The mesh top covered a yellow bra hidden beneath a yellow coat that matched the skirt.

“Kate’s never jealous,” I laughed.

“True,” Ceira said, but she glanced over her shoulder at me with a sly grin. “It isn’t jealousy, it’s envy.”

I tried to ignore the girls’ comments, but there was something off about my stepsister as we sat down and ordered.
